How Economic Beef Dishes: Skillet Spanish Rice, Meatballs, Mushrooms And Beer Stroganoff

If you, like many other Americans are looking for economical recipes to serve your family, I love this recipe. Spanish rice skillet is an easy dish with ground meat. Hob is another mushroom meatballs recipe ground beef economically. Beef Stroganoff uses the diced meat and beer is served with pasta or rice. Each of these recipes fit well in an economic and food are tasty and families.
Spanish Rice Skillet
Vegetable oil 1 / 4 cup
1 cup uncooked regular rice
1 medium onion, thinly sliced
1 / 2 medium green pepper, chopped
Chopped 1 / 2 pounds
2 cans (8-oz each) Sauce
1 3 / 4 cups warm water
1 teaspoon mustard
1 teaspoon salt
1 / 4 teaspoon pepper
Heat the oil in a large frying pan. Add rice and saute, add onion, bell pepper and chopped. Stir over high heat until meat is browned. Add the remaining ingredients to mix well and bring to a boil quickly. Cover with a tight lid and leave for 25 minutes.
Option: Add 2 tablespoons grated cheese before serving, if desired.
Serves 4.
MUSHROOM stovetop Meatballs
This is an old recipe I got from my late mother-in-law. He was a co-worker in a factory in Bloomington, Indiana about forty or fifty years ago.
Mix 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 / 2 soup can of water until well blended.
Combine the following ingredients:
1 / 4 cup soup mix
1 pound ground beef
1 / 4 cup bread crumbs or cracker
2 tablespoons chopped onion
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1 beaten egg
Mix above ingredients and form patties about 1 1/2-inch in diameter in each. Brown in skillet in 2 tablespoons of shortening. Discard excess drippings. Add the remaining broth into the pan, cover and cook on low heat for about 20-25 minutes. Baste occasionally during cooking.
Beer Beef Stroganoff
1 ½ pounds cubed beef
1 / 8 tsp. pepper
1 / 8 tsp. salt
½ cup of beer
1 ½ cup water
2 beef bouillon cubes
2 small cans mushrooms fried in butter
2 tbsp. flour mixed with ½ cup water
1 cup sour cream or less
Brown meat in small amount of fat, add the sauce and cover with beer, water and add bouillon cubes. Cook over low heat until soft. Thicken with flour and water mixture and add the mushrooms. Again Mix the sour cream and heat. Serve hot cooked rice or noodles.
